About Your Nucs
Each year, Bear Country Bees delivers 3 lb. bee packages & nucs to beekeepers in the Utah and Salt Lake county areas. These bees are reared in the finest, most reputable apiaries in California and transported safely to Utah for pickup.
Over the years, Bear Country Bees has provided hundreds of bee packages & nucs to beekeepers from all experience levels and walks of life.
*Note: all nucs come with an established queen, 5-frames, and a nuc box.

Plan To Be Flexible!
Each season, we transport 3 lb. bee packages to Utah from California. Then, we install bees from these packages into nucs and nurture them for approximately 10 days to ensure the colony is properly established.
The inherently unpredictable nature of agriculture (e.g. weather delays) can create a lot of scheduling challenges for the initial pickup of the bee packages. We ask you to please be patient and flexible as we work with the apiaries to secure these bees for you and get them to you safely.
Once the initial establishment period is over, we turn the bees over to you! We'll need you to arrange a pickup time with us to pick up your nuc(s) around or after dusk. Picking up in the late evening or early night allows us to get your bees safely prepared for travel.
