Goatskin beekeeping gloves are designed to protect your hands and forearms from bee stings. Having and using gloves is crucial to the success of any beekeeper.
These gloves are available in both leather and goatskin materials. At Bear Country Bees, we recommend using the goatskin gloves because they are more durable and more waterproof than their leather counterparts.
We include a pair of goatskin beekeeping gloves along with a beekeeping suit, hive tools, woodenware and all other necessities in our Starter Kit.

To prevent honey bees from entering your suit through the sleeves, pull beekeeping suit sleeves over gloves and seal the access points with velcro straps built into many beekeeping suit sleeves, independent velcro straps, wrist bands or thick rubber bands.
Beekeeping Gloves should be used in the following situations:
- Examining hive frames for brood, honey, or disease
- Extracting honey
- Adding new frames, hive bodies, or supers to a hive
- Putting new queens or worker bees in a hive
- Splitting a hive
