Your beekeeping suit is an essential part of your toolset because it offers full-body protection from bee stings. It is designed with heavy material to give you maximum protection, but is also flexible enough to allow you to work at your hives unhindered.
With different styles of beekeeping veils, you can choose the veil that best fits your needs and preferences.
Because a bee suit is so crucial to your beekeeping success, we include one as part of our Starter Kit.
- Additional Info
The following items are included with the Beekeeping Suit
- 1 beekeeping suit & veil
Note: beekeeping gloves sold separately from the rest of the suit so that you don't have to buy an entirely new suit if you just need to replace your gloves.
It's important to note that beekeeping suits aren't a 100% guarantee again bee stings. They will, however, protect you against the vast majority of stings when worn properly.
To learn more about this, check out our Starter Kit Course in our Education Center.
You'll typically use your suit in the following situations:
- Examining hive frames for brood, honey, or diseases
- Extracting honey
- Adding new frames, hive bodies, or supers to a hive
- Putting new queens or worker bees in a hive
- Splitting a hive
- Cpaturing honey bee swarms
Your beekeeping suit is durable and can be washed in a regular washing cycle. However, it's recommended that you let it air dry rather than putting it through a dry cycle.
